It is strongly preferable to have the PC to which the Biometric 1000 HandPunch unit is connected powered up and running the Attendance Rx biometric-enabled software whenever employees clock in or out. This enables the HandPunch to communicate in real time with the Attendance Rx software. However, if the PC should unexpectedly power down, the HandPunch unit does have a buffer that will enable it to continue collecting a limited number of punches. The punch data will be stored by the HandPunch unit until such time as the PC is powered back up. At that time, the Attendance Rx software will automatically poll the HandPunch unit and import the stored punches. |
