This problem does not apply to anyone using Windows XP or Windows 2000. 

If you are using Windows 98 or Windows 98 SE, then the version of MDAC that your PC is using is not current.  You will need to complete the following steps:

  1. Close all open programs.
  2. Put the TimeStation PC CD in your CD drive if it is not already.  If the install shield wizard starts and asks if you would like to completely remove the application, click Cancel.
  3. Go to Windows Start and select Run.
  4. In the Run field, type D:\mdac\mdac_typ.exe and then click OK.  If your CD Drive is not D: then substitute the proper letter for your CD Drive.
  5. After completing the MDAC installation, restart your PC.  The Pay Period Setup Wizard should then start.  If it does not, you will also need to upgrade your Internet Explorer to version 5.5 or higher and then re-install MDAC using steps 1-4 above.

If you reinstall the program after performing the MDAC install, you will need to select NO at the prompt Setup has detected an existing database. Would you like to use this database?  If you have entered information into the system already, this will cause any information to be lost.  Reinstalling the program IS NOT required.
